I forget when Memorial Day is.
I mean I don’t really forget when Memorial Day is. I know it’s always the last weekend in May. I can look at any calendar from here to eternity and figure that one out, it never changes. Regardless, somehow every year I get excited for the prospect of kicking off the summer with barbecuing something and then realize that I have to wait an entire week before it materializes. No kicking it parkside. No extra day to my weekend. I experience a pang of letdown annually with this knowledge.
